As of December 2016 under the Elections Act all provincial elections are held on "the first Thursday in June in the fourth calendar year following polling day in the most recent general election" * the next provincial election will be held on June 4, 2026

* residents who are aged 16 or 17 can register for the Ontario Register of Future Voters to vote when they turn 18
