Ontario Breast Screening Program

• breast screening for early detection of breast cancer in women, Two-Spirit people, trans people and nonbinary people
• screening includes mammography (x-rays of breast tissue)
• screening results are sent to both the patient and their doctor
• those who receive normal results are automatically recalled for their next screening appointment
• those who receive abnormal results are referred to their doctor for further investigation, or are referred directly for additional tests

• also offers mammograms Wed 5 pm-8 pm
• call for availability of evening bone mineral densitometry (BMD) appointments

Medical referral required

• x-ray walk-in patients only
• appointments required for other services (see website to request an appointment)

   Ontario Breast Screening Program:

• call for appointment
• no referral required for those between 40 and 74 years
• medical referrals also accepted for those high risk between 30 and 69 years or 75 years or older
