Services by e-mail, fax, mail or via the website - can obtain an Amateur Radio Operator Certificate and all administrative activities for amateur radio, e.g. call signs, changes of mailing address and requests for special events
- Amateur Radio Operator Certificate is required to operate amateur radio apparatus
- annual license renewal no longer necessary
- Industry Canada must be informed of mailing address changes

| Eligibility |
In order to receive a certificate, the person must be examined by an accredited examiner or, in special cases, be examined at the local district office of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada |
| Application |
To obtain a call sign: complete the Application and Report for Amateur Radio Operator Certificate and Call Sign (IC-2381) from the website- The application is to be submitted either by mail, email or fax to the Amateur Radio Service Centre
- Requests can also be submitted directly through the website

- A fee is not required to issue the initial call sign with the Amateur Radio Operator Certificate
- A fee of $60 is required to change an existing call sign or to request additional call signs, club call signs, or special event call signs
