Description (Service) |
Service provides: a benefit intended to help cover dental costs for eligible parents and / or caregivers who pay for dental care for their child and do not have access to a private dental insurance plan payments up to $650.00 per child, per benefit period, for families with an adjusted net income under $90,000 per year (maximum of 2 payments per child)
Paymentamounts per benefit period include: $650.00 for each eligible child if the family's adjusted net income is under $70,000 $390.00 for each eligible child, if the family's adjusted net income is between $70,000.00 and $79,999 $260.00 for each eligible child, if the family's adjusted net income is between $80,000 and $89,999
NOTE: If an eligible child's dental costs are fully paid for by another government program with no direct cost to you, those services do not qualify for this benefit. Check your child's eligibility for other programs before you apply. |

Eligibility |
Service targeted to parents and / or caregivers:
- with children born on or after July 2, 2011 (under 12 years old as of July 1, 2023)
- with an adjusted family net income under $90,000 per year
- who are the parent (or legal guardian) who receives the Canada Child Benefit for that child
- who have or will incur out of pocket expenses for the dental care of the eligible child that would not be fully reimbursed under another federal, provincial, or territorial government program who do not have access to a private dental insurance plan
- who have filed previous year's income tax and benefit return
- and have provided information on the planned oral health care visit in Canada or dental care expenses incurred between July 1, 2023 and June 30, 2024,, along with information about the oral health care provider.

To access service: apply online through Canada Revenue Agency My Account or call to apply by phone * The Canada Dental Benefit will end on June 30, 2024. Families can apply for the new Canadian Dental Care Plan starting in June 2024. |
