Public Comments If a wild animal is suspected of having rabies:
* for human exposure, report incident to the local health unit (residents of Guelph, Wellington and Dufferin counties, call Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health, 1-800-265-7293)
* for exposure of domestic animals, call a veterinarian
* for veterinarians requiring help in assessing whether an animal has been exposed to rabies, call the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, Agricultural Information Contact Centre, 1-877-421-1300
* to report a suspected rabid wild animal if neither human nor animal has been exposed, call the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry, Rabies Information Line, 1-888-574-6656

Description (Service) Protects the health of wildlife and Canadians by applying veterinary medical sciences to wildlife conservation and management, and health issues shared by wildlife, domestic animals and people. Informs wildlife conservation and provides a national and local perspective on wildlife health.

Application Call 1-866-673-4781 to report sick or dead wildlife, unusual bat activity or deaths, significant numbers of dead birds in one location or smaller numbers of dead wild birds, especially waterfowl, American crows, common ravens, black-billed magpies and blue jays.
