Description (Service) |
Provides temporary, in-home respite for the primary caregiver who is experiencing high level of stress * it is targeted for high acuity/high needs individuals and the caregivers who care for them * service is flexible to the caregiver's needs * pre-schedules in-home support available over a 24-hour period
Scope of services:
- Activities of daily living (ADL): movement and transfers, dressing and undressing, personal hygiene, bathing and going to the bathroom
- Instrumental activities of daily living (IADL): meal preparation and help with eating, medication reminders, homemaking (light housekeeping, laundry)
- Companionship support: some recreational activities, safety checks, helping to prevent wandering, redirection, prompting, cueing

Respite Advisors are health care professionals who have a solid understanding of the health care system and can help connect caregivers with the supports and resources they need to help keep their loved ones at home |
