Description and Service Details
Description (Service) Collaborates with Canadian universities and research institutions to find a cure for type 1 diabetes and its complications
  • charitable funder and advocate for type 1 diabetes research
  • improves the lives of people living with the disease
  • provides complimentary Bag of Hope, which contains a variety of educational and reference materials to help newly diagnosed children and families
  • children under the age of 12 also receive a Rufus or Ruby, the Bear with Diabetes™, designed to help children cope and learn about insulin injections children
  • the Mentor Program provides emotional support, information about diabetes resources, education about what families can do to help find a cure
  • the School Advisory Toolkit offers collaborative methods for educators and parents of children with diabetes to ensure that every child enjoys the best possible school experience
  • volunteer opportunities available
