Description (Service) Counselling Services

Trained professionals (First Link counsellors, outreach counsellors, Behavioural Supports Ontario outreach counsellors) are available to respond to inquiries from family members or the general public * outreach Counsellors are specially trained in dealing with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias but are not therapists

Support and advice can be provided:
  • by telephone
  • in person
  • virtually
  • in Peel at our office locations or in clients’ home as needed at no cost
Support Groups
  • support people who want to inform themselves with current information that will help improve quality of life with the disease
  • offer a variety of support groups to help the person wherever they may be in the journey (support groups for the person with dementia * caregiver support groups * bereavement support groups)
  • services provided at multiple locations throughout Peel
Hours Administration: Mon-Fri 8:30am-4:30pm

Boundaries Peel Region and Mississauga Halton Region
Eligibility People living with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias, and their caregivers * No need for diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease or any special referral to access our service
