Virtual Rec Connect is an online recreational program designed to offer therapeutic activities to vulnerable and isolated older adults, as well as individuals with cognitive and physical disabilities who are either on a waitlist for in-person adult day services or are unable to attend in person * participants can continue Virtual Rec Connect even when attending in-person programs * programs run virtually through Zoom on any smartphone, tablet or computer, and participants receive the Zoom link to join programs once registered * for participants who wish to join but do not have their own technology, a tablet is offered at no charge, along with training on how to use it
Services include:
- virtual recreational programs to individuals who would qualify for Adult Day Services or are otherwise art risk of accessing Alternative Levels of Care
- programs include physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, and social activities
- activities can be selected by participants based on their preferences
- live entertainment and educational sessions for caregivers and participants
- provide free activity kits to support social, cognitive, physical, and emotional well-being * each kit include brain teasers, games, personalized items, and hands-on activities to inspire engagement and creativity
- provide education and recreation respite opportunities for caregivers by sharing community resources and hosting events
