Description and Service Details
Description (Service) Offers programing to girls and boys, including mentoring, tutoring, recreational, and camp programs 
Big Brother/Big Sister Mentoring Program
  • matching program for children ages 6 to 14 with Big Brother or Big Sister, 19 years and older for fun activities 
  • meets with child three hours a week  
  • minimum of one year commitment
In-School Mentoring
  • partnership with Halton school boards  
  • matches elementary school girls and boys with a caring adult mentor  
  • volunteers 18 years or older meet with a child for one hour each week during school hours on school property  
  • share in fun activities
The Homework Club After-School Mentoring Program
  • mentoring program offered to boys and girls in grades 3 to 8 who need academic support  
  • one-to-one homework assistance 
  • adults or teens (grades 9-12) volunteer one hour per week after school in a local elementary school  
  • adult volunteers needed as Homework Club site supervisors and should have teaching, social work, or other relevant experience working with children
Adventure Canada Club/Connections Project
  • youth ages 7-14  
  • newcomer youth learn about Canada and integrate into their new community 
  • with the goal of social integration, Connections Project members meet weekly in a group setting, on school property 
  • mentoring sessions include fun, educational activities, games and a potential for homework help or open discussion 
  • mentees will practice English language skills, make new friends, learn more about Canada and most importantly — have fun
Go Girls! and Game On! and Girls Linking Our Worlds (GLOW)
  • youth age 12-14 are mentored in a small same-gender group at local elementary schools in order to promote active living, balanced eating and developing leadership skills 
  • volunteers are women age 18-30 and men 18+ who are young at heart
Cultural Mentorship Program
  • youth age 12-18 who are interested in embracing Caribbean and African cultures are mentored in a group setting 
  • volunteers are men and women over the age of 19
