Description (Service)

Approximately 50 volunteers provide a marine search and rescue capability during the boating season

  • the rescue boat operates from a Navy Street slip
  • monitors Marine Radio Channels 16 and 68 during patrol hours
  • members receive year round training in search and rescue, marine radio operations, navigation, boat handling, First Aid, and CPR
Hours

Crew Patrols:  
Mon-Wed 6 pm-10 pm * weekends and holidays: 12 noon-8 pm, 
Remaining Mon-Sun 24 hours service covered by Call-out-phone

Dates

Patrol season is from late Apr to the end of Oct. * Emergency Call out service may extend into Nov

Areas Served Oakville
Boundaries Waters of Lake Ontario (N) of water line to (S) 10nm from shore * (W) from the Petrocan Pier (Burloak Drive) to the St. Lawrence Cement Pier (E). Assistance beyond this boundary is provided at the request of the Canadian Coast Guard
