Description (Service) Creates, maintains and coordinates an effective community emergency capability and capacity that provides for the safety and well-being of Halton residents 
* emergencies could include tornadoes, floods, train derailments, hazardous materials spill, or freezing rain/ice storms 
Alert Status on 
* in the event that high-level information needs to be available an alert banner will appear atop of  
Halton Region’s Enhanced Community Notification Service (eCNS) 
* an emergency notification system for household and business landline phones 
* this system will be used in the event of a major incident or emergency in the Region  
Alert Ready 
* delivers critical and potentially life-saving alerts to Canadians through television, radio, and LTE-connected and compatible wireless devices
