26 bed facility in West Hamilton, operating as an offsite department of St Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton

  • admissions are voluntary
  • referrals made locally, regionally, provincially
  • direct primary care support is provided for those who do not have a physician
  • direct hospital support provided for medical and psychiatric emergencies as the service is non-medical
  • safe supportive environment
  • telephone support available 24/7
  • information and education sessions related to addiction
  • day and in-house treatment program
  • Aftercare program weekly - face to face or telephone support
  • Emergency shelter beds for women in need of shelter 

The program has been developed using key expertise from:

  • female clients
  • community partners
  • team members
  • evidence-informed literature 

Withdrawal Management:

  • provides a safe, supportive environment for women to withdraw from substance use
  • non-medical setting with medical supports and partnerships
  • psycho-educational and peer-led groups 

Treatment:

  • Day or Inhouse provides therapuetic, holistic and educational programming in an evidence-informed six week treatment model
  • Provincial assessment tool and phone assessments are required to determine admission
  • Programming includes individual and group counseling
