Description (Service)

Halton's quality initiative that supports licensed child care programs, working directly with educators by providing coaching and consultation, Professional Learning, and Self-Reflection, with a focus on HDLH, Health & Safety requirements and Environments 
 
Includes participation from various sectors of the childcare community (non-profit childcare, commercial childcare, nursery school programs, School Age Programs, Licensed Home Childcare)  
 
For Licensed Child Care Programs:

  • Support capacity building for educators
  • Supported through professional learning opportunities for educators and supervisors, with on going self-reflection and goal setting
  • Environments, Interactions 
  • Receive on site support and resources from Quality First Consultant
  • In house professional learning 

For Parents:

  • Initiative within Halton providing support to early childhood programs and educators
  • Quality First Consultants and participating centres work together to identify quality improvement processes and actions that will positively affect children, families, and early childhood professionals
  • Ongoing annual commitment
