Immigration Detention Centres
Facilities that are used to detain individuals entering Canada who either fail to establish identity, are deemed a danger to the public or are considered unlikely to appear for future immigration proceedings or removal. The detention is intended for a limited time until a hearing can be arranged. The facilities are under the control of the Canada Border Services Agency under the provisions of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
