Better Business Bureaus
Nonprofit organizations sponsored by private, local businesses which provide general information about products or services, reliability reports, background information regarding local businesses and records of the companies' complaint handling performances. Most Better Business Bureaus accept complaints against businesses and help to resolve disputes through mediation or binding arbitration utilizing volunteer arbitration panels.
Business Registration/Licensing
Programs that register newly formed businesses according to the legal status under which they will operate (e.g., for-profit and nonprofit corporations, limited liability companies, general and limited partnerships, franchises and sole proprietorships) as well as record and reserve their legal name; register business opportunities; and/or issue licences or permits which provide written authorization for the operation of a business within a specific local jurisdiction.
Youth Business Programs
Programs that utilize volunteers from the teaching profession, business and industry to provide firsthand information about the business world for students and/or school-age children and youth and opportunities for them to learn about economic principles and the economy. Some clubs may also initiate small business ventures under the guidance of adult volunteers.
Business Associations
Organizations whose members are business people, either operating their own companies or employed in organizations, who have affiliated for the purpose of promoting the general commercial interests of the community or the interests of their own trade.

Organizational Planning and Development Support
Programs that help nonprofit organizations, small businesses and other groups engage in planning and development activities with the objective of improving their overall effectiveness and efficiency, making good use of their resources and achieving their mission. Support may include help in identifying and utilizing promising practices, assessing and implementing business diversification strategies, writing effective business plans, conducting feasibility studies, ensuring effective internal communication, building organizational capacity, managing self-contained projects, developing and delivering effective programs and services, and engaging in a strategic planning process that will provide a blueprint for achieving their mission.
