Disability Parking Permits
Programs that issue plates, decals or other special devices which allow people who have disabilities to park in designated spaces in public areas or in front of their homes, to park for unlimited periods of time in time limit zones and/or to park in metered parking areas without paying fees. The permits may not apply to commercial loading zones, bus zones, red zones and no parking zones.
Residential Parking Permits
Programs that issue placards, special bumper stickers or other insignias which enable people who live in posted areas to park their personal vehicles on the streets during controlled hours. Individuals with permits must still obey all other parking restrictions (e.g., red curb zones or street cleaning restrictions). Residential permit parking limits outside parking in residential neighbourhoods that are impacted by parking demand generated by nearby businesses, schools, hospitals and other similar sources. Short term visitor's permits may also be available for guests of residents.
