Cricket

The object of the game, which can last several days, is to score more runs than the opposition.

Curling

Programs, often available through local curling clubs, that provide opportunities for people of all ages to learn, become competitive in and enjoy curling, a game in which two teams of four players slide curling stones over a stretch of ice toward a target circle. Members of a team use brooms to sweep the surface of the ice in the path of the stone to control its speed and direction. Curling clubs are often organized into leagues and play one another in tournaments called bonspiels.

Dodgeball

Hockey

Hockey can be played on ice, pavement or a field.

Lacrosse

Rugby

Programs that provide opportunities for people of all ages to learn, become competitive in and enjoy rugby, a game similar to football in which play is continuous without time-outs or substitutions which features kicking, dribbling, lateral passing, and tackling but no forward passing. Soccer

The programs may provide coaching assistance to help participants play efficiently and work together as a team, and are often organized into leagues, i.e., groups of teams that are formed to play one another in organized competitions. Access to a soccer field and necessary equipment, uniforms, if necessary, and referees for games may also be available.

Softball

Programs that provide opportunities for people of all ages to learn, become competitive in and enjoy softball, a game like baseball that is played on a small diamond using a somewhat larger ball that is pitched underhand. The programs may provide coaching assistance to help participants play efficiently and work together as a team, and are often organized into leagues, i.e., groups of teams, that are formed to play one another in organized competitions. Access to a softball field and necessary equipment, uniforms, if necessary, and referees for games may also be available. Softball also has a number of variations, such as fastball, slow-pitch, modified pitch, lob ball and 3-pitch, all of which use slightly different types of balls and different ways of delivering pitches.

Volleyball

Programs that provide opportunities for people of all ages to learn, become competitive in and enjoy indoor, grass and/or beach volleyball, a game in which an inflated ball is volleyed over a net. The programs may provide coaching assistance and access to necessary equipment and facilities; and may sponsor or make arrangements for athletes to participate in volleyball competitions and provide officials for the games. League play may also be available and is usually organized according to ability level.
