DutiesWould you like to help nurture the mind of child or youth? The Halton Children's Aid Society (Halton CAS) runs an educational program designed to teach critical thinking and advocacy skills to improve the educational outcomes of our children and youth in the context of a fun and creative learning environment. There are two focuses - one for elementary students and one for secondary school students.
Our program is designed to meet the needs of our students in a learning environment that provides opportunities for blended learning activities with access to both hands-on and interactive materials.
Volunteers are required to assist in supervising individual groups and for general logistics of arrival/departure of the students who attend. This program has proven to be very successful, not only in raising the students’ school averages, but in allowing them to gain confidence and self-respect.
