CommentsRecycling Revisited is a registered not-for-profit organization. We are moving into our 7th year, in a phase of adapting to our new status. Our deep roots are in a huge citizen action in Burlington (Citizens' Committee for Pollution Control: 1970-1983). Our mission is to inspire people through a documentary, our archives and a book, to take action on today's environmental concerns. 
Our history goes back almost 50 years, when some of us were initiators of CCPC, pioneering citywide recycling in Canada. 
Our current activities are being planned and carried out in the perspective of the climate crisis

DutiesYou would also a member of our Development Committee, collaborating and assisting a Fundraising Subcommittee (being developed). The Committee meets twice a month on a Tuesday evening (6:30-7:30) in Aldershot, Burlington. Attending Committee meetings when possible will provide knowledge of our values, history, current activities, procedures, and weaknesses vs. strengths. We have had a poor record in fundraising and are committed to gaining skills and strategies. We would invite you from time to time to meet with the Board.

Dates and TimesTuesday: Evening (6:30 - 7:30 p.m.) 
Meetings are every second Tuesday. In the summer we meet "as needed", understanding that individual members will be engaged in summer activities or travel.

AccessibilityWheelchair accessible washroom, assistance needed with door - The office is at sidewalk level for entrance. The washroom has a wide door. Assistance is available ; Our biweekly meetings are held at an office (376 Plains Rd. E. Burlington), with permission of Kay Fisher, a member whose business office it is. Meetings and bathroom access are on the ground floor. The bathroom door is wide and there is room for a wheelchair.

Members from Oakville and beyond could use GO trains to Aldershot station and catch a bus or arrange a pickup. The address is on Plains Rd. (376 Plains Rd. East). TrainingOrientation ; The orientation would include organizational values, history, current projects, methods of operation, current challenges and hopes for the future. 
Volunteers will work within the structure of the organization (excellent support from the larger Development Committee).
TransportationNear public transit ; We have a one-hour meeting. Members should plan their transportation with heavy traffic patterns in mind for a reasonable arrival time.
