Comments

We believe every child matters and every child counts.

CityKidz was founded on a big dream to see a future free of child poverty; a future where all children have equal opportunity to thrive and achieve their full potential.

Through faith, hope and love, we seek to transform lives and end child poverty, one child at a time.

Duties

Do you have a passion to be part of a team that creates a warm and welcoming environment for every volunteer working towards the mission of CityKidz? If yes, we have the perfect role for you!

Whether it’s a volunteers first time at CityKidz, or it’s a volunteers hundredth time, as a member of the welcome team, you will be the first point of contact for volunteers as they arrive on a Saturday at CityKidz. During your shift on a Saturday, you will be in charge of welcoming volunteers and getting them to where they need to be. It is essential in this role to have a friendly and engaging personality, as you will be providing hospitality to each of our volunteers.

As a welcome team member, you play a crucial role as you actively live out the mission of CityKidz. Through your words and actions, when you welcome volunteers into the building, you are constantly creating inspirational experiences and developing nurturing personal relationships. As you do this, you equip other volunteers to do the same as they serve in their various roles!

Primary Responsibilities:
• To greet and sign in volunteers through TAM system (Check-in/ Check-out system).
• Ensure paper copies of attendance are being filled out as volunteers arrive.
• To welcome new volunteers for their first shift, providing them with a welcome package, their name tag and any additional information needed for the day.
• To ensure new volunteers know where to go for their shift, whatever their role is, by bringing them over to their team and introducing them to each other.
• Conduct phone calls to volunteers scheduled, who don’t show up.
• Relay important information to the appropriate staff member(s).
• Occasionally check in any guests expected that day.
• Keep refreshments on the hospitality table full and fresh.
