Duties | Provide emotional and social support to adults and their families with a life limiting / terminal diagnosis. Volunteers provide an opportunity for the client to be more than a diagnosis; creating a safe place for clients and their families to share the physical, emotional and spiritual changes they are experiencing. A visit might include legacy work, sharing histories, talking of gardening, or sitting quietly. Visits usually take place once a week for about 1-2 hours in the client’s home. At times the volunteer may provide respite for the caregiver. Dependent on the client’s ability may take the client out for a walk or a drive as well. | ||
