Duties | CWSDS is a not-for-profit organization that provides a wide range of exceptional community and supportive living services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and complex needs in Dufferin, Halton, Peel, Waterloo and Wellington regions. We are widely recognized as a premier service provider by clients, families, clinicians and the Ontario Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services. We operate a central facility in Oakville, Ontario plus 8 satellite sites throughout the region. CWSDS serves over 18, 000 clients per year and is the first developmental services congregate care setting internationally to collaborate with the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario to become a Best Practice Spotlight Organization.The Board is seeking Directors who demonstrate professional knowledge and experience in finance – preference for CPA/CMA. Our Governance: The Board of DirectorsThe role of the Board of Directors is to govern and oversee the affairs of CWSDS. Board in person meetings are held monthly in Oakville with video and/or teleconferences as required. The Board does not typically meet in July or August. Board Directors are required to attend all Board meetings and must sit on two Board committees. Director QualificationsAs a leader, you seek to volunteer with an organization committed to enhancing the lives of persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and their families. With the combination of your personal interest, experience and commitment to the sector and your professional expertise, you can help lead CWSDS as it embraces the increasing demands for service.
