We work with business professionals to deliver experiential learning in and out of the classroom to students in grades 4-12, with focus on three main pillars; entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and work readiness.

DutiesUsing our highly interactive education programs you will aid students in developing necessary business and life skills, to enter tomorrows’ workforce. Acting as a resource, facilitator, motivator and role model you will facilitate a Junior Achievement program in the classroom for a day. There are multiple programs to choose from, depending on your interests and skills.  
 
- Visit a grade 7, 8, or high school classroom in Milton and share your knowledge and experience in business/entrepreneurship 
- Educate students about careers in your industry sector 
- Volunteer dates are on weekdays during school hours

Commitment LengthShort Term ; Minimum hours: One school day (approximately 8 hours) plus a one-hour training session.  
 
Maximum hours: no maximum. Volunteers can go into a classroom as often or as little as they like. The volunteer commitment is very flexible and can be around your schedule (as long as you are available during school hours).
Interaction LevelSmall Group ; Large Group ; You will be placed in a Halton classroom. There will be a class of elementary or high school students who you will be interacting with. The classroom teacher will remain in the classroom at all times.

TrainingOrientation ; Training is provided ; A one-hour teleconference training will be provided and all curriculum and teaching materials; slides, and a notes handout will also be provided. All we need is your expertise!
TransportationVolunteers will need to be able to find transport to their assigned school.
CostJA is a non-profit and all of our programs are provided free of charge to students, teachers, and schools.
