CommentsTo improve access for adults and families who need transportation assistance to and from cancer-related appointments, including hospital appointments, supportive care and follow-up appointments.

DutiesDrive clients to and from their cancer related medical appointments at hospitals located in Halton, Hamilton and Toronto 
* Oakville drivers are currently needed during the week to drive clients to Toronto  
* Milton drivers are needed to drive Monday to Friday and/or to Toronto 
Respond to requests for client rides from the transportation Coordinator 
Confirm travel arrangements with client(s) by phone 
Offer minimal assistance to get clients in and out of the car (no lifting permitted) 
Follow safe driving procedures  
Become familiar with the programs and services provided by the Canadian Cancer Society and share these resources as needed 
Submit required forms regularly  
Provide up-to-date license and insurance information 
Adhere to all Canadian Cancer Society policies, procedures, standards and guidelines including client confidentiality and our 100% smoke-free policy 
Friendly, compassionate and sensitive to issues facing people living with cancer

TransportationDriver License required - Valid G driver’s licence with 3 or fewer demerit points and an acceptable driving record, enjoy driving ; Car required - Access to a well-maintained 100% smoke-free vehicle, minimum of $1 million third party liability insurance on vehicle ; Completion of a criminal reference check within acceptable standards, the Canadian Cancer Society will conduct and cover the cost of the police background check and the MTO check.
