DutiesVolunteers will mentor black youth within a community based setting. Volunteers will assist in providing mentoring relationships while black youth participate in activities that reflect Caribbean and African heritage, cultural icons, carnival arts, diaspora experiences and other fun group based activities.

Commitment LengthShort Term - 15 weeks ; We ask our volunteers to commit to one session. Sessions are 15 weeks long for 2.5 hrs per week.
Interaction LevelSmall Group ; Large Group ; The Cultural Mentorship Program will have as many as 20 youth who identify with the black community. There will be opportunities to break down into smaller groups when taking part in group activities.

TransportationVolunteers will provide their own transportation to designated community centres in Oakville and Burlington. We may require a few volunteers to pick up and drop off youth to programs (License required).

Additional RequirementsWe require all volunteers to complete an online application, obtain a vulnerable sector police clearance, attend a training session and a personal interview prior to program start date.
