DutiesMentors are paired a skilled newcomer from their same profession. They assist a mentee in: 
•understanding the Canadian context of their profession and workplace culture 
•gathering information on their occupation and industry 
•improving job search strategies and networks

Membership in PEO or OACETT certification is an asset.
Commitment LengthShort Term - 3 months ; 1.5 hours per week for 3 months
Interaction LevelOne-on-one ; Mentors work one-on-one with a mentees who is matched based on profession.

Dates and TimesTimes are flexible based on volunteer availability
AccessibilityLocations are selected by the Mentor (eg. coffee shop, library, etc)
LocationDetermined by mentor -- for example: cofee shop or library

Mentors welcome from any location. Mentoring is scheduled a location that is convenient to you.
TrainingOrientation ; An orientation is provided for Mentors prior to meeting their mentee. Mentors also have access to on-line resources, professional development sessions and the support of a mentoring coach throughout their mentoring relationship.

Additional RequirementsMentors should have at least 2 years professional experience and an active network in the profession.  
Membership in PEO or OACETT is an asset.
