CommentsRecycling Revisitedis a general environmental organization with many envirornmental interests including recycling issues. Our name refers to our deep roots in an organization that pioneered multimaterial, city-wide recycling in Canada. This organization was Citizens' Committee for Pollution Control (CCPC: 1970-1983), at a time when there was no city in Canada with a program of this kind. 1,000 Burlington citizens ran a volunteer recycling program with the goal of inspiring Burlington and the Ontario governments to take on the responsibility for recycling.household waste..We met our goal in 1983, and tired volunteers began pursuing their environmental concerns individually. Recycling Revisited has a number of participants who were active in CCPC, and we consider our organization as a descendant organization. We are keeping the CCPC story alive to inspire today's citizens to take action on their environmental concerns, in this time of climate change.

DutiesThe Secretary, is a Board member, is carrying a lot of responsibility at this time. We are trying, as an organizational goal, to have a collaborator for every person in order to back each other up, to be available at times when either one has to be absent. The duties involve collaborating with the Secretary in taking minutes to be sent to attendees at meetings after editing; sending email reminders and notices to active members/drafting messages/letters; completing certain forms to be edited before submission; collaborating in developing the monthly newsletter; The Secretary and Secretarial Assistant both collaborate with the members of the Board in maintaining the activities of the organization. The Board members stay in frequent communication, and the Assistant will be part of that message-sharing and discussion.
