The Start2Finish Running & Reading Club is a fun after-school program that encourages literacy, healthy active living, and play. The program runs from October to May one afternoon a week for two hours. Volunteers support students in various fitness and reading activities. As a result, students stay in school, build self-confidence and develop positive friendships with mentors and peers. With mentor Coaches, students discover the possibilities of a brighter future.
Information to highlight:
- Children in the Running & Reading Club are 6 -13 years old; from grades 1-6
- You do not have to be a runner to volunteer, there is something for everyone!

- Reading with children
- Help to serve snack
- Leading literacy activities

Packing and sorting fresh food into crates that will be distributed to our community partners and neighbours in need. Some heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs) required; participating in a temperature controlled Pack Room. Closed-toe shoes required.
The Support House Board of Directors is composed of volunteers who work and/or live in Halton and surrounding communities. The Board is responsible for effective governance and leadership for the organization.
The time commitment required for a director of the Board is approximately 60–70 hours per year. Meetings are held monthly on the last Monday of a month, in the evening, at the Oakville office or virtually.
Preference will be given to candidates who have experience with any of the following:
