Children's Mental Health Ontario
Scope of Responsibilities 
Chapter Leaders are responsible for establishing and providing peer support; sometimes this is done through monthly peer support groups or being available for one-to-one support. Chapter Leaders must have lived experience raising a child/youth with mental health challenges and have a solid understanding of local resources in the Child and Youth Mental Health Sector.  
Peer support is a form of self-care, being heard and seen by others who understand what it is like to be on your journey helps make the journey a bit easier.  
Direct Support 
● Flexible availability and use of methods in providing support for families  
● Knowledge of mental health supports and services within the community 
● Communicate issues or challenges with Family Partnership Program Manager as they arise 
● Communicate periodically with families through the peer support offered and/or through a distribution list (eg. email, newsletter, or mail) as necessary 
Chapter Development & Leadership 
● Attend mandatory training (no more than 10 hours per year) 
● Promote PCMH within the community to ensure it is a widely known resource to our target audience 
 
Administrative 
● Communicate with PCMH through email, phone, virtual and in-person meetings 
● Ensure chapter email and telephone line are checked at a minimum every 4 days  
● Attend monthly Town Halls and support resource creation by sharing your experiences and knowledge 
● Participate in training opportunities 
● Complete quarterly data surveys and respond to requests for information to better inform PCMH programming and support initiatives

Halton Baby-Friendly Initiative
In person meetings take place in Oakville, 1151 Bronte Road
- Support the vision, mission and goals of HBFI  
- Attend monthly in person or virtual meetings as able  
- Participate in meetings and workgroups as able (workgroups may be related to social media, printed resources, planning and hosting events, celebrating Canadian or World Breastfeeding Week, etc.)
Sexual Assault & Violence Intervention Services of Halton
Thank you for reaching out unfortunately we are not taking any new volunteers on at the moment as the offices are closed until outreach in the community is permitted. 
 
Spread awareness of sexual violence and the services of SAVIS throughout the Halton Region by staffing information booths. Youth between the ages of 14 and 18 are able to staff some booths based on the booth location and topics.

Virtual with a possibility of in person in 2022
Mentor newcomer families or individuals to support a successful transition into their new community. 
Provide an introduction and ongoing support to help the newcomer (and family) get started in Canada 
Help the newcomer to gain an understanding of Canadian cultural norms, social etiquette, and more 
Provide opportunities for English language practice and learning (and access to 'ESL' programs, if needed) 
Help the newcomer build a 'social network' and learn new skills 
Learn about community resources (public and private) and their effective use 
Able to accommodate a schedule that will have you connecting with your client 1-2 times per week for a minimum of 3-6 months (MONTHLY time commitment is a minimum of 6 to 8 hours) 
You are an immigrant yourself and have been in Canada for MORE THAN 2 YEARS
