Weekly visit one of our wonderful clients' in their home. During your visit you can chat over coffee, play a game of cards, visit the library or museum, run some errands together - like grocery shopping...these are just a few ideas. 
 
You'll be helping keep seniors and psychically challenged adults active, independent and happy.
Darling Home for Kids

The Frontline Volunteer works alongside the professional care team and provides companionship to enhance the quality of life for our children during their stay at The Darling Home for Kids. Frontline volunteers are involved in our residential and respite programs.  
 
Our Frontline volunteers are with the children at the bedside, during activities, within the Snoezelen area, enjoying arts and crafts, spending time outside, and generally are there to support the child and Frontline staff with whatever activities are going on around the Home.  
 
Frontline volunteers must be at least 20 years of age.

There are many volunteer opportunities for students such as: 
1. help with computer work 
2. assist staff with one to one activities such as reading, talking, doing manicures, puzzles, crafts, cards 
3. assist staff with program activities such as carpet bowling, shuffle board, horseshoes, trivia 
4. assist by helping with the day to day organizational chores such as set up, clean up, laundry, tidying, crafts, bulletin boards  
5. help with special events such as Christmas party, garage sale, fundraising events.

Halton & Peel regions (Mississauga, Oakville, Milton, Halton Hills, Brampton, Caledon)
Our goal is to work with individuals who are over the age of 18 and who have suffered loss themselves or who feel they are capable of using their own experiences with grief to provide peer support within a facilitation role in our grief support group.  
- Two open grief support groups: closed and drop-in. The open group sessions are held weekly or biweekly. 
- Individuals to fill the Facilitator volunteer positions are needed for both groups.
