To provide companionship services to isolated seniors and adults with disabilities by going on outings, walks in the community, playing games, or having conversations in an outdoor setting.
Time Commitment of 1-2 hours per week.
Currently looking for English, Italian, Portuguese, Arabic, Russian, German speaking men and women in Halton. Other languages as needed.
We are currently seeking Congregate Dining Assistant volunteers to serve food and beverages to a group of seniors to encourage nutrition, socialization, and enjoyment of the group activity. The role includes setting up tables, serving food and beverages to anywhere from 8-30 seniors at a time, clearing and cleaning the tables, washing the dishes and conversing with the seniors in a friendly manner.
The Congregate Dining program takes place twice a month at several different buildings across Halton Hills on Wednesday evenings from 4:15pm-6:30pm and Thursday afternoons from 11:15am-1:30pm. The typical time commitment is 2-3 hours per shift.
We are currently seeking qualified candidates to join our Board of Directors. Board
members share a keen interest in the well-being and successful performance of the Links2Care
social service programs. To ensure diversity and representation, the successful candidates
should reside in one of the communities served by Links2Care. If helping others and giving back
to the community by serving on our volunteer Board resonates with you, then we would like to
hear from you!
Duties and Expectations of a Board member include:
- Understand and support the principles of fiduciary responsibility of Board of Directors.
- Participate in setting and monitoring L2C’s strategic directions and policies.
- Attend all Board meetings (hybrid of in-person and online for 9 x 2 hours meetings per
year in the evenings, usually on the fourth Wednesday of the month except in July, August
and December); commit to membership on at least 1 Board committee; prepare well for
meetings and discussions.
