We need a qualified volunteer who can assist with managing the children in our waiting room. Some children will be with parents and others will be on their own. The main function is to ensure the children are safe and are appropriately occupied while they are waiting for their appointment. We will have activities, games and movies on hand for the volunteer to use with the children. Most children are well behaved. Some children start to misbehave when they are bored or anxious/stressed. Sometimes they will just need a little reassurance that our staff are very kind and helpful. If there are any behaviours that are not manageable then we will have staff nearby who can help. We want the waiting room to be family friendly, so the volunteer will help to make everyone feel welcome!
