Bake Sale Coordinator will organize the donations the week before the event into bags/trays and complete pricing and signage. On September 7th will set up the bake sale table and stay for part of the fair. There will be other volunteers to do shifts from 11am to 5pm. This opportunity works well for a single volunteer or a family.

Nankind offers rewarding volunteer positions for those who are looking to make a difference in the lives of families.
In home Volunteer Angels provide childcare support for parents who have been diagnosed with cancer, for those requiring palliative care, and for families requiring additional relief during the bereavement period to help reduce any stress or anxiety they may be experiencing due to their parent’s illness or death.
By meeting weekly, building trust, and having fun, our Angels help parents gain the confidence and peace of mind to rest or attend medical appointments, knowing their children are cared for and supported by knowledgeable and compassionate volunteers.
Our Angels receive specialized training and the support of NAN’s Child Life Specialist throughout their volunteering time.

Qualifications
* Must be willing to undergo an Enhanced Police Information Check.

Enrolling volunteers for the 2024-25 SCHOOL YEAR in Oakville and Milton. At this time we are not offering a Burlington location for the 2024-25 school year, please check back closer to Fall 2024.
Enrollment for the 2024-25 school year ramps up in April/May 2024 and continues all through the end of the school year and into the summer months. Spots are usually (almost) full by the time school starts up in September.
High school students will mentor a child once a week after school in a one-to-one relationship, with an elementary school student. Involves assisting a child in grades 3-8 with their homework, playing educational games, and developing organizational skills. Homework Club takes place at a number of elementary schools across the Halton region. For the 2024-25 school year, Homework Club will only run in-person (we will no longer offer virtual spots).

- To provide companionship services to isolated seniors and adults with disabilities by going on outings, walks in the community, playing games, or having conversations in an indoor setting.
- By volunteering, you will be helping to increase an older adult's connection(s) in their community
- By volunteering, you may able be providing the primary caregiver with a 'bit of a break'
- Engage in friendly conversation and leisure activities that both parties enjoy, such as playing
cards or sharing a hobby as per client interests, in order to develop a respectful, friendly, caring
relationship. - Maintain contact with the Coordinator, informing them of any concerns and receiving
instructions to meet client and Links2Care goals. - Maintain communication with the client in the event of any schedule changes.
- Complete and submit a monthly volunteer time record.
- Maintain calmness in emergencies, with an ability to assist in a crisis.
- Participate in annual volunteer survey.
- Interact professionally in accordance with Links2Care Code of Conduct and Human Rights Act.
- Maintain complete confidentiality of client information in accordance with Links2Care
confidentiality/privacy policy. - Maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
- Visit or call client on a consistent, weekly basis.
- Perform other duties as assigned

Program Oversight:
- Collaborate with CDL staff to ensure the smooth execution of programs.
- Monitor and report on program outcomes and participant feedback.
- Work closely with program facilitators to maintain safe staff-to-child ratios during activities and events.
- Help implement safety protocols and emergency procedures as needed.

- Act as an ambassador for CDL by attending events and engaging with the community to promote our programs and essential services.
- Share information about CDL's mission and impact with potential participants, donors, and partners.
Volunteers are matched with a person living with dementia based on location and common interests such as music preference, leisure activities and lifelong roles. The matches meet weekly for 90 minutes to ease social isolation and improve engagement of the person living with dementia while providing a short respite for the care partner.

Job Description:
· Meet with your senior match virtually or in their home, at least 1 one-hour visit on a weekly basis.
· Engage in friendly conversation and leisure activities (e.g., playing board games or sharing a hobby) & provide support through friendship
· Offer social companionship and even take walks/outings in the community, depending on the interest and ability of your senior match
· Follow Re-Imagine Ontario’s policies and procedguidelines.re to the rights of the service-recipients and follow program specific guidelines
· Record and submit monthly hours/activities and report any incidences, accidents or concerns to the Program Director
· Participate in meetings and community events if scheduled
· Act as an ambassador for Re-Imagine Ontario
Qualifications:
· Sensitivity to the needs and challenges faced by older adults living in the community.
· Patience, compassion. with a desire to help older adults living isolated, some on a low income
· Ability to work with people in a professional, empathetic manner
· Effective verbal and listening communication skills.
· Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds and build strong working relationships
· Proficient computer/digital skills including but not limited to Zoom. Word and Excel are assets.
· A team player who enjoys working in cross-functional teams with a willingness to learn
· Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with diverse communities and stakeholders
· Other languages spoken, an asset.
Other Requirements:
· 18 years or older, however, 55 years or older is our most in demand age group. If you’re in this group, we want to hear from you
· Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information.
· You will be required to do a Vulnerable Sector Check-(VSC) check and reference check for this role.
Time Commitment:
· At least 1 one hour Zoom or Phone or In-home visits to the client assigned per week

Re-Imagine Ontario is a registered charitable organization whose mission is to improve the health, education and employment of vulnerable people, with a particular focus on Black and Indigenous populations, by fostering strong community support networks. We offer youth and seniors support programs in mental health and education/mentoring.
The Role:
Re-Imagine Ontario is seeking a very strong candidate to help us expand our efforts across Halton-Peel, by creating and developing our presence on Instagram/Facebook/Twitter/TikTok/ Blogging and others. This is an opportunity to use your social media savvy to help a small organization grow and to gain valuable experience as well.
What you will be responsible for:
· Create and post engaging content for our audience through social posts, imagery, and others.
· Working with our team to create and maintain a social media programming calendar.
· Help to develop, execute, and optimize online campaigns when required.
· Weekly monitoring and interacting with our audience on your assigned social channels.
· Actively monitor, analyze, and report on social performance.
· Research: stay up to date on changing tools in digital and social media, including but not limited to measurement and analytic tools, industry and global trends, competitor tracking daily.
· Work with marketing to plan and implement digital marketing campaigns.
· Help develop a newsletter.
· Designing and creating shareable content (that meets our mission/brand guidelines).
· You’re comfortable on camera, if necessary, for creating great social content.
· Discovering opportunities to make our channels stand out and gain exposure.
· Generating, editing and sharing content multiple times a month (e.g., copy, photos, videos and news).
· Nice to Haves - Some experience with Websites & SEO; Designing /creating email campaigns.
What You’ll Bring:
· A degree, college diploma or equivalent certification or commensurate experience in social media, graphic design, digital marketing communications, or a related subject area.
· Minimum 2 years of work experience in social media, content creation, digital marketing.
· Proficient in various applications like Canva, Microsoft Office 365 and others.
· Experience writing copy, captions, design, and video editing skills is an asset.
· Creativity and consistency and a willingness to learn.
· Sound judgment and resourcefulness to solve problems independently.
· Stay up to date with new & upcoming marketing rules, regulations, trends, tools, and applications.
· Ability to identify and communicate issues when they arise.
If you are creative, organized and have social media skills, this would be a great role for you! The work is entirely virtual, and anticipated workload is approx. 2-3hrs/week. While not mandatory, providing a sample of your work would be an asset.

Our volunteer board of directors meets monthly in Georgetown or Acton (Halton Hills), with additional meetings as deemed necessary for committees and project-oriented activities. Participation at meetings is in-person or through online conferencing when appropriate. Responsibilities of Directors include attending monthly meetings well-prepared to discuss agenda items that are meant to facilitate board decisions about the organization and its operations. Directors are asked to devote an average of 4-8 hours per month to respond to communication, participate at in-park events, participate in the activities of at least one subcommittee and actively extend help to other Directors as and when needed.

Looking for a volunteer to help teach music to newcomer youth
The Volunteer Friendly Visiting Ambassador duties include making contact with an isolated senior for at least 1 hour weekly. This includes contact by phone, Zoom or in-person and include conversations and social activities, and may assist with basic support as companionship to seniors. The goal of FV is to make contact remotely and in-person to encourage seniors to stay active, healthy, and socially engaged within their local communities. See detailed duties in the link below.
