• regulates pet licencing and microchipping, animal safety and common pet issues

Services include: 

Dog licenses:

• are valid for one year from the date of purchase and need to be renewed annually

Educational programs:

• offers a variety of programs to educate the community on responsible pet ownership and to make sure Burlington is a safe place for people and animals
• also offers school visits and shelter tours

Lost pets: 

• shelters lost pets (including dogs, cats, birds, reptiles and pocket pets) and helps reunite them with their families
• also house stray animals for the Town of Milton
• posts information about all found pets to the Helping Lost Pets website 
• animals that are not claimed by owners within a minimum of five days, if suitable, are put up for adoption

Pet adoption:  

• animals available for adoption may be viewed on the Petfinder website
