Description (Service)

Specialized trauma-focused therapy service for persons with childhood histories of trauma

  • primarily group-based psychotherapy for adults who experienced childhood interpersonal trauma including physical, sexual, emotional abuse and/or neglect that occurred between the ages of 0-18
  • does not provide crisis services or long-term therapy

Trauma Portal

  • entry point for accessing therapy in the Trauma Therapy Program (TTP)
  • online, 8-week trauma program that participants complete at their own pace - option to attend weekly live session facilitated by TTP trauma therapists

Pathways for Healing

  • variety of weekly, time-limited, groups for individuals who have completed the Trauma Portal
  • heal trauma through the arts, the mind, the body, and relationships
  • couples therapy interventions available to those in the program
  • after completing up to 2 group pathways, individuals will be discharged for 3 months; individuals can be re-referred to the program or to WRAP after 3 months if interested

Women Recovering from Abuse Program (WRAP)

  • Phase One: building resources and preparing for phase two
  • Phase Two: intensive half day group psychotherapy program with accompanying individual therapy for women (trans and cis), non-binary and gender diverse people who have experienced abuse and/or neglect in childhood

Eligibility Individuals of all genders 18 years and over experiencing mental health problems resulting from a childhood history of interpersonal trauma; WRAP - women (trans and cis), non-binary and gender diverse people who have experienced physical, emotional, sexual abuse and/or neglect in childhood (0-18 years old)
Application Referral from a physician or a nurse practitioner providing primary care; clients must attend an orientation session
