Description and Service Details

Description (Service) Specialized trauma-focused therapy service for persons with childhood histories of trauma
  • primarily group-based psychotherapy for adults who experienced childhood interpersonal trauma including physical, sexual, emotional abuse and/or neglect that occurred between the ages of 0-18
  • does not provide crisis services or long-term therapy
  • offers two kinds of groups based on gender: one open to self-identified women, trans, non-binary, and Two Spirit people, and the other which is open to everyone
Resourced and Resilent Group
  • entry point for accessing therapy in the Trauma Therapy Program (TTP)
  • teaches strategies to help manage current symptoms of trauma and to enrich quality of life
  • focuses on helping people explore the impact of past traumatic experiences on their current life and not on processing details of individual trauma
Pathways for Healing
  • variety of weekly, time-limited, groups for individuals who have completed the Resourced and Resilient Group
  • heal trauma through approaches including: healing through the arts, healing through the mind, healing through the body, and healing through relationships
  • couples therapy interventions available to those in the program
  • after completing up to 2 group pathways, individuals will be discharged for 1 year to consolidate gains made in therapy. Individuals can be re-referred to the program or to WRAP after 1 year if interested
Women Recovering from Abuse Program (WRAP)
  • intensive half day group psychotherapy program with accompanying individual therapy
Hours Office: Mon-Fri 9 am-5 pm; WRAP Program: Mon-Thu 9 am-1 pm

Eligibility Individuals 18 years and older experiencing mental health problems resulting from a childhood history of physical, sexual or emotional abuse, incest, or neglect
Application Referral from a physician or a nurse practitioner providing primary care; clients must attend an orientation session
