Description (Service)

The City of Burlington has nine Council-appointed advisory committees that provide feedback and input to Council

  • Accessibility Advisory Committee - advises on the identification, removal and prevention of barriers to people with disabilities in the City's bylaws, policies, programs and services
  • Agricultural and Rural Affairs Advisory Committee - advises and assists in the implementation of Burlington's agricultural and rural goals, objectives and policies
  • Cycling Advisory Committee - assists, advises, recommends and supports Council in matters related to cycling in the city
  • Downtown Parking Advisory Committee - advises on strategies and policies that affect the development and delivery of parking services in downtown Burlington
  • Heritage Burlington Advisory Committee - provides advice on issues related to the conservation of Burlington's cultural heritage, promotes conservation of cultural heritage and provides input and consideration on heritage conservation planning
  • Inclusivity Advisory Committee - provides a monitoring and measuring role to help ensure that the City applies an inclusion lens to its policies, services and programs
  • Integrated Transportation Advisory Committee - advises on policies, initiatives and strategies affecting all forms of transportation, including cycling, pedestrian travel, transit and driving
  • Seniors' Advisory Committee - represents Burlington seniors' perspectives on municipal and other key seniors' issues, such as transportation, isolation, affordability, parks and recreation services and geographical service delivery
  • Sustainable Development Advisory Committee - promotes the principles and objectives of sustainable development, holds public events, submits position papers and advises City staff and Council members on these issues
