Description (Service) | HATCH is a one-stop service for people applying for subsidized housing in Halton Region * eligible applicants with questions about application status are directed to contact Access Halton in Oakville at 905-825-6000 * approved applicants will be added to the waiting list with the date their application was received * approved applicants will receive a written request each year to confirm continued interest in being on the waiting list * as applicants move up the HATCH wait list they will be contacted by HATCH staff to review their application and prepare for move-in readiness (review selected buildings, final eligibility review and helpful tips) * locations, contact names, telephone numbers, available on website - Search for Subsidized Housing * housing providers with a vacancy will contact the applicants at the top of the list directly * applications are ranked on the waiting list based on the date of their application * exceptions to the chronological waiting list apply for priority households See the HATCH application form and booklet for more information, or call Access Halton at 905-825-6000 |

Eligibility | Ages: 16 year(s) and up Must be a legal resident of Canada. In order to be eligible for geared-to-income housing: * no member of the household owes money to any social housing provider; * no member of the household is under a deportation, departure or exclusion order to leave Canada * no member of the household has been convicted of an offense in relation to rent-geared-to-income assistance or found by a court of law or the Ontario Rental Housing Tribunal to have misrepresented their income for the purpose of rent-geared-to-income assistance * applicants who own a home or principal residence elsewhere must agree to sell the property within six months of being housed * the proceeds of the sale of the property will be used to calculate rent |
