1) Family Doctor

Start with your family doctor for a medical assessment and referral to specialists covered under OHIP

 

2) Employee/Family Assistance Program (EAP)

If you are employed, check if your employer offers an Employee/Family Assistance Program

  • Usually provides short term counselling
  • Often covers dependent children
  • Typically refers to psychologists or social workers

 

3) Extended Health Benefits

If you have extended health benefits, check your coverage and ask your provider for help finding a suitable therapist
