Comments | It's easy to help an older adult remain independent and content in their own home. Make a new friend by providing your support during a weekly visit. Your time can be spent in the client's home or if you are comfortable, by taking them in your car for a drive, for a coffee, walk by the lake, shopping, a museum visit, live music or any other activity of interest. |

Commitment Length | Long Term ; We ask for a minimum 1 year commitment, upon completion of your orientation. Visits take place once a week for about 1 hour in the client's home or a few hours if going out in the community. Depending on the client's ability, volunteers may also take the client out for a walk or drive. |

Training | Orientation ; Training is provided ; Cost-free orientation training provided. |
Transportation | Near public transit ; Driver License required ; Car preferred but willingness to use public transportation is an option. You will not be obligated to transport a client in your car - but can choose to do so if you are comfortable. |
Cost | Vulnerable Sector Police Clearance cost not covered but you can keep the original report. |
